Areas of Specialism
I have worked therapeutically with people in one to one settings for over 8 years. I have a background of working with people with addiction and substance misuse issues. In addition to my private practice in North London I also work as a counsellor and facilitate therapeutic groups in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation (rehab) centre in London.
I have a practiced martial arts and meditation for over 30 years. I have found that using some simple movements from Tai Chi and techniques from meditation and mindfulness can aid self-exploration and awareness of ones internal experiences. Paying attention to what is going on in the body through the use of simple and subtle movements can produce a more connected and embodied sense of self and as a counsellor I use some of these techniques to be more attuned to the therapeutic atmosphere, which can also be called the relational soul field.
For over 20 years I have practiced a form of spirtitual healing which uses the imagination to draw upon energies of light which can be embodied for ones own needs or transmitted to others. Where appropriate I offer simple guided techniques and reflections to support the feeling of embodiment and being more grounded.
